Benzoyl Peroxide: It is commonly used to treat oily skin and acne. It acts in following ways:
1) It kills bacteria, which are the rot cause for the development of acne. Bacteria causes, the sebum trapped under the skin to become fatty acids leading to swelling and inflammation and acne.
2) It acts as an exfoliating agent that is it peels the dead skin and prevents clog formation.
Sulfur, Resorcinol, and Salicylic acids It is an antibiotic. It helps in healing existing blemishes by unclogging pores. Salicylic acid is particularly effective on blackheads.
Topical antibiotics: These are antibiotics, which are used on the surface of skin. They are used to treat certain kinds of acne, which have pus in them. Topical antibiotics attack bacteria, which cause acne. These antibiotics tend to dry and irritate the skin, use moisturizer after treatment.
Retinoic acid: It decreases size of oil glands and thus reduces production of oil. It also exfoliates that is peels dead skin cells from the hair follicles so that plugs do not form. It may take two to three months for improvement.
Exfoliation: Various techniques can be used to remove dead skin layer. It can be as simple as scrubbing face with salt or sugar or use of sophisticated techniques listed below:
Microdermabrasion: It is a type of skin treatment where superficial layer of skin is removed with the help of aluminum chloride crystals. This helps to control oil production and acne formation
Chemical Peels: as the name suggests chemicals are used to peel off superficial layer.
Laser: Laser rays also help is peeling off superficial layer of skin and controlling bacterial growth.
In addition to the treatment
1) Take Vitamin B regularly. It keeps skin healthy.

3) Avoid diet high in fats such as red meat, cheese, chocolates or other dairy products.
